昆士蘭州發言人表示，被咬的24歲女子27日晚間已被送往莫斯曼醫院接受治療，幸好只是受了輕傷，當晚便已經出院。去年在苦難角也曾發生類似事件，一名46歲女子在小溪中游泳時遇害，警方最後捕獲並殺死了一條4公尺長的鱷魚。
本書原文的作者多數是女性主義地理學界巨擘型學者，他們已對這個研究領域投入一生的時間與精神，並在全球性別研究中扮演舉足輕重的角色，或在大學中教授女性主義地理學課程，或指導性別地理研究論文的學者，並對高等教育性別地理學有深刻的影響。透過此譯本的引介，希望能讓華文讀者分享這些經典的作品。期待讀者看過之後能因感動而投入這個領域，使女性主義地理學能源遠流長，這將不是最後一本女性主義地理學翻譯本。
Gender, Society and Space—Selected translations is a significant text developed from the class of the same name that has been taught by Prof. Nora Chiang at the Department of Geography, National Taiwan University for the last ten years. The fourteen selected papers are grouped into three sections: “Theory and Conceptualization of Issues,” “Empirical Research on Class, Ethnicity, and Mobility,” and “Methodology and Practice.” The original works were written in English by distinguished scholars in the field of feminist geography in the western world. Translated into Chinese, they will help a large number of teachers and students in other parts of the world where this literature is not readily available. ?
